Miley Cyrus Strikes Syria

miley-cyrus-v-magazine-2-224x300DAMASCUS American pop culture and international diplomacy combined today in a bizarre and puzzling series of events as controversial singer songwriter Miley Cyrus launched a strike against Syria.

Cyrus, clearly confusing recent press coverage of a potential U.S. military operation with the highest form of union negotiating tactics, picketed the Syrian embassy and twerked her way through some brief comments to the press.

“This strike symbolizes the importance of freedom and equal pay for a hard day’s, um, work,” explained the possibly stoned former star of “Hannah Montana.”

When asked her opinion of whether or not Syrian president Bashar al-Assad had ordered the use of deadly chemical weapons against his own people, the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus paused before stating that “Workplace safety is, like, a really critical issue,” before initiating a chant of “Solidarity! Solidarity!”

At a press conference held this afternoon, White House press secretary Jay Carney responded to a reporter’s inquiry about Ms. Cyrus’ actions by looking down at the podium, shaking his head from side to side, and then slowly and sadly walking away.
